A special silent auction honoring the memory of Mackinac Island student and Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) member Asher Topham will take place during the upcoming Nominate and Celebrate Picnic on June 2 at Turtle Park.
Hosted by the Mackinac Island Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee, the auction will feature a donated Salsa Mukluk X7 fat tire bike, valued at nearly $2,000. All proceeds from the auction will go directly into the Youth Fund, supporting future youth initiatives and programs in the Mackinac Island community.
The silent auction will run from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. during the community picnic, which takes place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The bike was donated in honor of Asher Topham, who attended Mackinac Island Public School and served as a fellow YAC member before his passing in September 2024.
The Mackinac Island Community Foundation’s annual Nominate and Celebrate event brings together residents, seasonal workers, and local organizations for an evening focused on community giving and nonprofit support. Attendees will also vote live to help determine grant funding for local nonprofits.
