Visitors to the Straits of Mackinac will soon have a new way to experience one of Northern Michigan’s most spectacular views. Shepler’s Ferry announced this week that it plans to launch Shepler’s Sunset Cruises during the 2026 season, offering guests a chance to enjoy golden hour on the water.

According to the announcement, the cruises will take passengers out on Lake Michigan and Lake Huron during sunset, providing panoramic views of the Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac Island, and the surrounding Straits as the sun sets.

Shepler’s described the new offering as a different kind of outing from its traditional transportation service between the mainland and Mackinac Island. The sunset cruise will focus on the scenery and atmosphere of the Straits during evening hours, with views of the bridge and Island as the sun goes down.

The company highlighted the opportunity for photography, relaxation on deck, and enjoying the evening breeze on the water.

Specific details, including cruise schedules, pricing, and ticket availability, have not yet been released. The announcement said additional information and ticket sales will be announced soon.

The new cruise is expected to debut during the 2026 season, adding another option for visitors looking to experience the Mackinac area from the water.
