Hosted by the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau, the event will take place at the Chippewa Hotel lobby bar, with doors opening at 7:45 a.m. and the ribbon cutting scheduled for 8:00 a.m. The celebration is open to the public and will be broadcast live on 9&10 News.

The annual tradition brings together Island business owners, employees, and residents to mark the beginning of a new season. While Mackinac Island remains active year-round, Opening Day symbolizes the return of the Island’s full energy as hotels, shops, restaurants, and attractions reopen for visitors in the days and weeks ahead.

Attendees can expect a lively and communal atmosphere as the Island comes back to life, offering one of the first opportunities of the season to gather and celebrate what makes Mackinac Island a beloved destination.

The event serves as both a ceremonial kickoff and a reminder of the strong local community that supports the Island beyond the summer months.
