Mackinac Island has received national recognition once again, earning nominations in two categories in a nationwide “Best Small Town” competition.
The Island is currently nominated for:
Supporters can vote once per day in each category until Monday, March 30 at noon, giving residents, visitors, and fans of the Island plenty of opportunities to show their support.
Known for its horse-drawn carriages, historic architecture, and breathtaking views of the Straits of Mackinac, the Island has long been considered one of the most unique destinations in the United States. With no cars allowed and more than 80 percent of the Island preserved as Mackinac Island State Park, the community blends natural beauty with more than two centuries of history.
From iconic landmarks like Fort Mackinac and the Grand Hotel to its vibrant downtown and miles of scenic trails, the Island continues to attract visitors from around the world. The new nominations highlight the Island’s reputation as both a historic treasure and a standout destination in the Midwest.
Because votes can be cast once each day, supporters are encouraged to return daily until the voting deadline on March 30 at noon.
Winning either category would further cement Mackinac Island’s reputation as one of America’s most beloved small towns.
Residents, visitors, and island fans are invited to vote and share the opportunity with friends and family to help Mackinac Island take the top spot!
