The Mackinac Island Lilac Festival has once again earned national recognition, landing at #5 on USA Today’s 10Best list of Best Flower Festivals in the United States.
The annual festival, which celebrates the Island’s world-famous lilacs, was voted into the top five by readers from across the country. The recognition highlights Mackinac Island’s long-standing reputation as one of the most beautiful places in the country to experience the sights and scents of spring in full bloom.
Each year, the 10-day celebration draws thousands of visitors to the Island for a packed schedule of events centered around the peak lilac bloom. This year’s festival will take place June 5–14, offering a mix of traditions and lively festivities for locals and visitors alike.
Festival favorites typically include the Lilac Festival Grand Parade, the Lilac Queen coronation, garden tours, live music, walking tours, and family-friendly events throughout downtown and across the Island. The celebration has become a hallmark of the Mackinac Island summer season and a beloved tradition for many who return year after year.
With lilacs expected to be in bloom and a full lineup of events planned, make plans now to join the Island June 5–14 for ten days of flowers, festivities, and Mackinac Island charm.
