The Mackinac Island Community Foundation (MICF) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Spring Grant Cycle, offering funding opportunities for local nonprofit organizations, schools, and governmental entities serving the Mackinac Island community.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government organizations working to support Mackinac Island. Applications must be submitted by Sunday, March 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Insights gathered during MICF’s Community Needs Assessment, conducted in summer 2024, highlighted key challenges and opportunities facing the Island. These insights have been organized into four focus areas that now guide its grantmaking efforts:
Capacity Building
Culture
Wellbeing
Vibrant Island Life
MICF continues to prioritize funding requests that address these focus areas and help strengthen the overall health and vitality of the Mackinac Island community.
Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to take advantage of MICF’s support throughout the process. The foundation’s office is available to consult with applicants who have questions or would like guidance while preparing their submissions.
Additional resources, including a sample application and instruction manual, are available on the MICF website.
For questions about the Spring Grant Cycle, applicants may contact Grants Coordinator Liz Findley.
