A relaxing evening of creativity and learning is coming to Mackinac Island this June as the Mackinac Arts Council presents a Beginner Needlepoint Workshop with Becki Barnwell at the Richard and Jane Manoogian Art Museum.

The workshop will take place Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is designed for beginners ages 8 and up. Whether participants are completely new to needlepoint or simply looking to refresh their skills, the class aims to provide an approachable and supportive introduction to the craft.

Led by experienced instructor Becki Barnwell, the hands-on session will cover foundational stitches, beginner techniques, and practical tips to help participants build confidence as they learn. Organizers say the workshop is designed to be relaxed and welcoming, encouraging guests to enjoy the process at their own pace.

“No experience necessary and no pressure,” the event description notes, emphasizing accessibility and creativity for all ages.

The class will be held at the Richard and Jane Manoogian Art Museum on Mackinac Island.
