After a month of difficult winter conditions, Arnold Freight has officially resumed operations, marking a significant step forward for supply movement to Mackinac Island.
The reopening comes after prolonged ice coverage across the Straits, which had limited transport and created logistical challenges for both freight carriers and island businesses. According to their recent Instagram post, with only a few days back in operation, Arnold Freight crews are already working around the clock to move essential goods safely and efficiently as conditions gradually improve.
In these first days, the company has prioritized critical shipments, including large food orders, fuel deliveries, building materials, and other essential supplies. These deliveries are vital to supporting businesses, residents, and ongoing projects on the Island as the community transitions out of winter.
With improving ice conditions and a renewed operational pace, the company is positioning itself to provide faster and more efficient service moving forward.
